drunken phone call (Brittany/Santana)

Santana took another drag from her cigarette while she listened to Brittany, “You’re drunk,” she said calmly knowing she herself hadn’t drank nearly half as much as Brittany, “And I really, really don’t need to hear this. Sex is more than that. You’re the only girl I’ve ever… sex is more than fun and now it’s pretty much ruined for me. I’m a bitch, you treated me as so, and now it’s done. We’re done,” Santana said ignoring the tears running down her cheeks, “Tomorrow I’m signing papers and finally doing shit with my life so, so stop fucking with my head.”

“For the smartest person I know, sometimes you can be super dumb,” Brittany replied. “I don’t think you’re a bitch. I think you’re beautiful, and funny, and clever, and talented, and pretty much the best person I have ever met. Sure, you can be a little too harsh once in a while, but so can anyone.”

She sighed. This was difficult to put into words. “Just because I am drunk doesn’t mean I don’t know my feelings. I know what my heart says no matter how many jello shots I’ve swallowed,” she said. “I know I love you more than I have ever loved anyone, more than my pets, or my friends, or any of my boyfriends, or anyone else. You were my girlfriend for a small part of our relationship Santana, but you have always been my absolute best friend. Since we were little. You say we’ve always been more than friends, and you’re right, but for most of our friendship we weren’t girlfriends, and I don’t know why we can’t… revert to that? I miss you more than anything. I feel like a gopher ate out my chest because it is so empty all the time. I feel even worse than I did that week Lord Tubbington ran away, and you know how I cried that entire week. I have felt that sad since you left. I made one mistake and I just want it to go away, Santana, why don’t you believe me?”
